This is a very beautiful knife and surprisingly it flips very well. I was ready to accept it as just a pretty collector’s piece but it actually performs very well. There are some design choices that went into this knife that lend themselves well to flipping that might not immediately be apparent. Despite the wide profile of the blade, it tapers down toward the pivot area which keeps it from flying away. The spine is also crowned an has a nice feel to it. The tang nipple is very wide and doesn’t catch while flipping. There are no tang horns so it doesn’t pinch while flipping. The handles are wider than some would like but I don’t really mind since it doesn’t inhibit flipping at all. They’re rounded and roll well for choker fans. The stabilwood scales are also very grippy, even with sweaty hands. The liners are skeletonized, which keeps the weight down and also distributes it more evenly.

I do have a couple minor gripes with it. There is a bit of handle play which causes the blade to rub. Even with the pivots as tight as they can go, it’s still wobbly enough for it to rub. With some time, this will scratch up the blade. The zen pins also use security torx for whatever reason, which is pretty inconvenient.

I’d also like to mention that it’s really cool how the different colors of wood on the handles can all be seen on the blade.

I definitely recommend this knife overall, and if you’re on the fence about it, hopefully this will aid your decision.
